Acceptable Use Policy

This policy describes responsible, lawful use of WritingSignal's AI Detector, AI Humanizer, accounts, and private processing services.

Professional Review Required
This is a substantive pre-launch draft based on WritingSignal's implemented architecture. It is not yet legally effective and does not invent an operating entity, jurisdiction, certification, or compliance guarantee.

1. Use Content You Have the Right to Process

Users may submit only writing they created or have permission to analyze or revise. Users must respect copyright, confidentiality, privacy, contractual restrictions, and applicable law.

2. Do Not Use Results as Automatic Proof

  • Do not present an AI Detector result as proof of authorship, cheating, fraud, or misconduct.
  • Do not use WritingSignal as the sole basis for education, employment, housing, credit, insurance, legal, medical, or other high-impact decisions.
  • Do not deny a person notice, context, review, or a meaningful opportunity to respond where a result may affect them.
  • Do not use Humanizer output to make a false claim about authorship, evade a lawful disclosure duty, or facilitate academic or professional misconduct.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

  • Illegal content or activity, threats, harassment, exploitation, or instructions intended to cause serious harm.
  • Malware, credential theft, phishing, service disruption, scraping that violates access controls, or attempts to discover another account's information.
  • Submission of passwords, payment credentials, authentication secrets, API keys, or unnecessary highly sensitive personal information.
  • Attempts to bypass rate limits, word allowances, payment verification, account ownership, deletion controls, or provider safeguards.
  • Resale, automated access, or shared-account operation unless WritingSignal has explicitly approved the feature or agreement.

4. Humanizer Responsibility

Users must review Humanizer results for facts, intent, citations, quotations, technical terms, and context. The Humanizer is a revision tool, not a guarantee that writing is accurate, original, compliant, or classified in a particular way by another service.

5. Enforcement and Appeals

WritingSignal may rate-limit, restrict, suspend, or close accounts to protect the service or respond to suspected violations. Actions should be proportionate to risk, use role-restricted operational controls, and create privacy-safe audit evidence.

A user may contact support@writingsignal.com to ask about a restriction or provide relevant context. WritingSignal will not require unnecessary private writing merely to review an account action.

Review Item: Final notice, appeal, law-enforcement, sanctions, and regional due-process requirements require legal review.
