Cookie Policy

This policy explains the limited cookies and related technologies used to keep WritingSignal secure and understand service reliability.

Professional Review Required
This is a substantive pre-launch draft based on WritingSignal's implemented architecture. It is not yet legally effective and does not invent an operating entity, jurisdiction, certification, or compliance guarantee.

Cookies are small text records that a website may store in a browser. Similar technologies can retain a session choice or help a service recognize a secure request. This policy uses the word cookie for these related browser technologies where appropriate.

WritingSignal uses Clerk for authentication. Clerk may set cookies or use related browser storage that is necessary to sign users in, protect sessions, prevent abuse, and route account access. Disabling these technologies may prevent private account features from working.

WritingSignal currently uses allow-listed, server-side PostHog events and redacted Sentry monitoring. Submitted writing, filenames, payment data, and identifiable analysis scores are excluded. Sensitive-page session recording is off.

The current architecture does not require advertising cookies and WritingSignal does not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising.

Browsers let users delete or block cookies. Strictly necessary authentication cookies cannot be disabled through WritingSignal without losing the functions they provide.

If WritingSignal later introduces non-essential browser analytics or marketing cookies, it will add a consent choice before enabling them where required.

Review Item: A final browser-level cookie inventory, durations, domains, consent banner decision, and regional consent requirements must be verified before public launch.

Questions about cookies or related technologies may be sent to support@writingsignal.com.
